Chinese Name: Ji Xiao Wei

Gender: Male

Date of Birth: September 27, 2007

Special needs: Cleft Lip, Palate (Lip surgery done 11/2009)

Wesley apparently lived with his family until just before his first birthday when he was abandoned in front of a manufacturing plant in Jilin City.  After a thorough search revealed no relatives, he was taken by the police to an orphanage. At one year old, he was already walking and could speak many words. Because of his CLP, he could not speak clearly.

After three months he was placed in foster care where he remained until he came to us June 9, 2010. His foster family took good care of him and taught him good social skills, many words and even how to count.

In November, 2009, he had his cleft lip surgery, and he has also had his cleft palate surgery. However, it needs to be redone and will be scheduled soon.

Now at nearly three years old, Wesley is a smart and active little boy who enjoys playing with other children. He can sing children’s songs and recite poems. He enjoys music and likes playing with cell phones, pretending to speak to someone. He also enjoys the music he hears on the cell phone and asks for it to be played over and over.

He is named for John’s father, Wesley Bentley, of Alaska.
