Doyle came to us from the Urumqi children's orphanage in Xinjiang Province on August 18, 2009. He had a very severe cleft/lip and palate. Just one month after coming into our care, we provided him the surgery he needed to correct his cleft lip. It was a little touch-and-go for a while because he developed a post-surgery infection and had to be hospitalized again. He has now recovered from that surgery and will be scheduled for the cleft palate surgery as soon as he is ready.
Doyle is unique because, unlike some of our other children, he is not shy at all. He is full of love, life and laughter, and he is progressing normally for a two-year-old. He has a healthy appetite in keeping with his joyful personality.
He is named for our dear friend Doyle McAlister from Colorado Springs, CO.
